ULTRASONIC NEBULIZER

It is a medical device that uses ultrasonic waves to provide medications to patients through steam/mist, which is inhaled to the lungs. It is commonly used for patients with respiratory diseases. It creates the mist by vibrating a metal plate at ultrasonic frequencies.

Most current ultrasonic nebulizers operate at frequencies above 1 MHz. The ultrasonic nebulizer solution is sonicated. The temperature can rise 10° to 15° C over a 10-minute treatment period, adversely affecting heat-sensitive components of formulations, such as proteins. Ultrasonic nebulizers also are not suitable for nebulizing suspensions.
